"Attic of love is one of those rare
things: a new rock band that has
refused to compromise its own
vision to be fit neatly into any
stifling net of expectations. If I
could liken their sound to any
other group or genre, it would be
somewhere in the ranks of Tool,
A Perfect Circle, or Rage Against
the Machine... with the added
layer of a nasty, aggressive,
gnarly---and somehow also
ethereal---flute. But these bands
don't describe Attic of Love, not
really. They are too very much
their own. With live
performances that are awesome
in their heavy power and passion,
Attic of Love is definitely one of
the top ten heavy bands playing
in America today."

Lessons - The Lessons album contains over an hour and a half of music,
including songs like "After Wrestling With Salvadore Dali All Night in
the Paranoic-Critical Light," "Chicomecohuatl and Christ Join Hands"
and "A Better Use of Silence." That last song title was inspired by the
advice of our opera-singer producer for the Being You album. But that's
another story. Available for purchase at CD Baby.
Being You - The Being You album contains long time crowd pleasing
songs such as "Stealing Einstein's Brain," "Cripples In Love" and
"Klorox." The album was produced by the Ocean Records label, and as
such is the only album the band did not have complete control over. It
doesn't sound quite the way we wanted, but what the Hell, I got to do
some killer Bass Flute tracks, renting at no expense to myself. Still
available on Amazon, or at CD Baby.
The Black Einstein album - contains the earlier version of Stealing
Einstein's Brain. The Being You version may sound more professionally
polished, but I've always prefered this rougher rendering of the song.
Especially the flute solo. Go figure. The crazy-looking dude hanging
from the apocalyptic sign on the back cover is drummer Mike Speziali's
muscle bound brother, who sometimes lifted heavy equipment for us.
Available for purchase at CD Baby.
The Scary Bald Guy EP - was the precursor to the Lessons project, with
earlier versions of Nazis on the Moon and Chicomecohuatl and Christ
Join Hands. Actually the scary dude on the cover is none other than
Garro himself, our friend who painted the Lessons cover.
The White Album - (sorry Paul, John and George...) As first demos go, I
guess this one's not all bad. You can hear the band learning its craft. And
actually, I miss playing some of these songs. Especially The Bridge of
Lost Desire (fellow science fiction aficionados may recognize the
reference to Delany's Neveryon masterpiece).
Attic of Love: The Lyrics So Far - with jaw dropping cover art by the
great Mark Garro(renowned painter and cover illustrator for Tor books),
this collection of song lyrics for the band attic of love also contains an
introduction by underground critic Leslie K. Weinar, author of The
Symbolism of Coprophagy and Cannibalism In Popular Culture: A
Post-Deconstructionist Review of Modern American Tribalism, and the
slender yet controversial book of poems White Boys: Why They Are
Afraid of Me.
yes, it's true Attic of Love has been recording and songwriting. The new album,
which was tentatively titled "Born Again" was not yet released due to technical
difficulties, but there are rough tracks available for listening and even purchase.
The sessions will be properly released coming soon. As well, a whole new album of
material which has never been performed live is right on the horizon. Check back
for updates, or go the Attic of Love site for more....
